Governement tells that weed is as dangerous as crystal meth. When kids try weed and realize that the government lied to them, then they go on to try crystal meth, thinking it's not that dangerous. War on Drugs War on Povrety and minorities.
This war is not winnable but eminently fundable, and Governement burocrats in Washington addicted to fundings of the war on drugs. Drugs abuse and addiction is a medical/psychological/mental problem, not a criminal issue, and should be treated as such. Felonisation of American medical problems= economical cash cow.
